
Tube bundle dryer
Stordworks tube bundle dryer is used for drying by conduction heating. The material to be heated and dried only contacts with heated tubes, and not directly contacts with steam. Tube bundles are operated on the counter-flow principle (i. e. The flowing direction of steam is opposite to the running direction of the material ). The design of tube bundle dryer considers the flow characteristics of wet and dry products, the tendency of caking and thermal sensitivity of materials under dry conditions.
In the tube bundle dryer, heating tubes are arranged by a circumferential type inside the rotating shell. This entire shell and tubes are driven through suitable gear drive. Wet material is fed by screw conveyor through material inlet which is installed at one end of the shell of dryer. Steam enters in the tubes through rotating joint installed at material discharge end of the shell. Dried material is discharged from the material discharge outlet on the shell. The suitable sealing arrangement is provided to prevent air leakage and product losses. To achieve an optimal operating behavior, each dryer is customized, e.g. the spaces between tube and tube diameters, shovel positions and filling levels inside the housing etc. are selected and adjusted to an optimum.

Stordworks tube bundle dryer can be used by countercurrent operation or current heating operation according to the requirement. Wet material is fed into the dryer by the feeding screw conveyor, and then heated by the steam through the tube bundle as well as the jacket shell. Shovels transport the product along the circumference of the housing, where it falls through the heated tube bundle for each rotation.New surface area is released continuously while the shaft rotate so that wet material gets dried in a high thermal efficiency. Dried material is discharged through the discharge outlet, while the evaporated moisture which entrains a certain amount of dust is cleaned in the cyclone dust collector or fabric dust collector.
The waste steam will be discharged to outdoor by draught fan.
The material is dried in the closed chamber under negative pressure, with clean working environment, no pollution and low noise.
The economic and gentle drying is achieved by contact with the tubes and convection. The heat source is typically saturated steam between 4 - 10 barg, solutions with lower steam pressure are available.
